Matchmaking is officially underway for October 26th’s YOKKAO 43-44, set to take place once again at the Bolton Macron Stadium in the UK. The first bout has just been confirmed and it will feature a 59-kg female clash between Jodie Clunan and current UK number one, Niamh Kinehan.
Fighting out of Liverpool’s PTB Academy, Clunan is no stranger to our promotion. She made a promising winning debut on the undercard at YOKKAO 29-30 last year and she’s now ready for main card action. Clunan currently ranks number 5 on the UK ranking, after placing at the second spot last year. The 28-year-old is back to make the climb back up the charts and challenge Kinehan in the quest for the number one spot.Â
Kinehan made a splash with a stunning round-1 finisher in her YOKKAO debut last year. After an all-out war and memorable performance against Lucy Payne in March, she is due for another return to the YOKKAO stage. Fighting out of Manchester’s Franks Gym, the 20-year-old currently holds 2 world titles to her name. Kinehan will put her best foot forward to hold onto her position and show why she is one of the best female fighters out of the UK today.
Organized in partnership with YOKKAO UK promoter, Brian Calder, the coming event will bring together the region’s top names and up-and-coming fighters. More details on the fight card will be released in the coming weeks.
VIP Ringside and Standard Bronze seats for YOKKAO 43-44 are already sold out even before the first fight was announced. Gold Outer Ringside and Silver tickets for YOKKAO 43-44 are still available at www.yokkao.com/events/yokkao-43-44.
