YOKKAO Next Generation Kids Returns to Barnsley on 10th February!
In about a week’s time, the increasingly prominent YOKKAO Next Generation Kids returns to the Barnsley Metrodome for another round of junior Muay Thai fun and action. The date is fixed for 10th February Saturday and the stage is now set for the young warriors to show what they have got. The return to Barnsley follows the event’s inauguration held last November 26th. The resoundingly successful event saw a stacked 59 bouts featuring Muay Thai Kids from UK and around Europe. The event also saw the crowning of Joe Ryan as the first YOKKAO Junior World Champion and Ellie Barker as the YOKKAO Intercontinental Champion. For the February 10th show, it is going to be another truly international event with 20 overseas juniors attending from Spain, Portugal, France, Holland, Germany and Ireland.
Headlining the event will be none other than Ellie Barker who trains out of the Hanuman Gym in Darlington with Craig Willis. This is a great North East domestic clash with Ellie taking on her friend and ex training partner Anya Carter from Steve Wright’s Erawan gym. The bout is expected to be a great technical clash between two very talented ladies . Another joint headliner is Anthony who was recently voted the Vinny Shoreman fighter of the year for 2017. Anthony has his toughest fight to date taking on the young french star Khalis from Cedric Mullers 2C Academy. YOKKAO Next Generation Kids would not be complete without the appearance of Joe Ryan. The 13 year-old is fresh off an outstanding performance at the IFMA Baltics Open in Lithuania where he faced a Belarusian lad almost 16 years of age.
Joe walked away with an impressive silver medal to add to his gold from the IFMA World event. Back at Barnsley, the YOKKAO Junior World Champion will put his title up for defense against the highly rated Kyriakos from Ninos Gym in Cyprus. Another promising matchup stars Lewis from Darren Phillip’s GFC in an international title fight against Jimmy from Team Solo in Holland. The young Dutch fighter hails from Dennis Van Der Linden’s very successful Team Solo gym and will be appearing alongside 5 of his team mates.
For everyone attending the show, look out for the YOKKAO merchandise booth where Kids Muay Thai gear and shorts will be on sale. All of the popular YOKKAO Kids collections like the Sick Boxing Gloves and Monster CarbonFit shorts can be found at the booth. A whole series of YOKKAO Next Generation Kids shows have been lined up for the rest of the year with Scotland next on the card in March. Recently, dedicated news and events sections for kids have launched on the YOKKAO website, showing the brand’s commitment to building the next generation of Muay Thai stars.
