Striking Superfight: Superlek Defends World Flyweight Kickboxing Title vs. Rodtang at ONE Fight Night 8

Striking superfight confirmed! At last, the long-awaited superfight between modern Muay Thai legends Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Rodtang Jitmuangnon has just been announced.

The Kicking Machine is set to defend the ONE World Flyweight Kickboxing Championship against his fellow global superstar, Rodtang, a.k.a., The Iron Man, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on March 24 at ONE Fight Night 8.

Fresh off capturing the title just this past January 14 at ONE Fight Night 6, Superlek will make his first defense after a quick turnaround. He is riding the momentum of several victories in a row. Six, to be exact, four of which came in fights in ONE Championship. This latest victory can be seen as one of the peak achievements of the 27-year-old’s already storied career. However, he will probably face his toughest foe yet when he clashes with Rodtang.

Rodtang has been on an absolute tear at ONE Championship, winning all 13 of his Muay Thai and kickboxing bouts in the promotion. In the process, he has ascended to the pinnacle of martial arts superstardom. But there is one thing that is noticeably lacking in his run at ONE so far and that is to compete with other Thai fighters. The match-up with Superlek is set to change all that.

The two Muay Thai superstars boast jaw-dropping records that highlight how dominant they have been in both Muay Thai and kickboxing. Superlek currently has a record of 132-29-4, and he is looking to add to his wins total come March 24. On the other hand, Rodtang owns a professional record of 270-42-10, and he, too, wants to continue his winning ways.

Despite the fact that Superlek and Rodtang are meeting in a kickboxing match, with the former being the defending champion, they do have limited kickboxing experience. What they are truly masters of is the art of 8 limbs, and most, if not all, of their fans would love to see them in a Muay Thai contest. Whether that comes to fruition remains to be seen, but what’s sure for now is that the fans are going to be treated to fireworks from the two champs come March 24!
