YOKKAO 49 First Fight Announced: Panicos Yusuf vs Chris Shaw!

The date is set for YOKKAO 49-50 which will be staged at the University of Bolton Stadium on 8th August 2021. As always, a stellar cast of the region’s top Muay Thai fighters will be making their appearances at the double event.

The first bout has just been officially confirmed and will feature Chris Shaw taking on Panicos Yusuf!

Both Shaw and Yusuf are no strangers to the YOKKAO and UK fight fans. Shaw will be making his fifth appearance for our promotion following his win against elite Thai champion, Rambo Phet Por Tor Aor on YOKKAO 38. Yusuf's last appearance on YOKKAO was 4 years ago, making this a highly-anticipated return to our stage.

Fighting out of POS Fight Team and BoxFit Glasgow, Shaw brings to the ring an immense heart along with a dominant clinch-and-knee style. Other than Rambo, the Scottish fighter has also clashed with formidable opponents such as Karim France’s Bennoui, Ireland’s Stephen Meleady and most notably, Superlek Kiatmoo9. Shaw is never one to back down, putting on an explosive show in every single one of his appearances.

In the other corner, we have Panicos Yusuf who fights out of Stockport’s All Powers Gym. The Cyprus-born fighter is a seasoned competitor in the international Muay Thai scene. Like Shaw, Yusuf has taken on many top guys in his career including Manachai, Rittuak Kaewsamrit and Muangthai PKSaenchaiGym. He is a technical specialist with decades of experience in Muay Thai. The two highly-technical fighters will pit their skills against each other in a battle for dominance that we expect to go the distance.

Chris Shaw vs Panicos Yusuf will join other high-profile match-ups at the University of Bolton stadium to be announced over the coming days. Just two weeks following the announcement of the show, all ringside and silver tickets are officially sold out with limited bronze tickets available.
